Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center Expands its Management RanksAll Department Directors to be Called Leaders
Our department heads are truly leading the way in their fields rather than simply directing, said Tobin. They are forging the way; setting high standards. We believe this new title reflects the responsibility and experience they bring to their respective roles. The following six individuals have joined the hospital as leaders after being selected from a pool of local and national talent: Lecia Albright joined SRMC team as Quality Services Senior Leader in June. Most recently, Lecia had been the Owner & Principal Consultant for LARA Consulting, LLC, a local firm. There she provided consulting services for hospital survey readiness, performance improvement and patient safety program design. Lecia is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHC) and was named as a Fellow of the National Association for Healthcare Quality in 2008. She is currently the President-Elect for the Virginia Association for Healthcare Quality. She also serves as a mentor to health policy and administration students in the Womens Leadership Initiative program at Penn State. Lecia is eager to create an environment of the highest standard of quality throughout every department within SRMC. She and her husband have lived in Spotsylvania for seven years and they have one daughter who is a graduate student at Duke University. After dedicating 18 years of service to HCAs Henrico Doctors Hospital, Krystal Atkinson has transferred to SRMC to take on the roll of Surgical Services Senior Leader. In a similar role at HDH, Krystal managed 25 operating rooms, three post-anesthesia care units, and four pre-operative areas. She also worked with the construction and design teams to renovate and expand the hospitals surgical suites. She has 17 years of nursing experience including four as a director of surgical services. She has also worked as a clinical education coordinator, legal nurse consultant, and staff nurse. Krystal lives in Richmond with her husband and three children. Debra Pouliot, Senior Leader of Human Resources, comes to SRMC from Heritage Medical Center in Shelbyville, TN, where she was most recently Director of Human Resources. She began her career as a licensed practical nurse before deciding to pursue a degree in business administration. Debra has 25 years of experience in healthcare, including 17 years in human resources. She will assume a key role in recruiting the balance of SRMCs workforce. Debra and her husband recently relocated to Fredericksburg. Susan Salyer has joined the team as Leader of Marketing Services. Susan relocated to Virginia one year ago where she had been working as the director of business development and physician liaison for West Valley Hospital in Goodyear, AZ. She has several years of experience in marketing, program development, physician recruitment and relations, and community outreach. She has over ten years of healthcare experience and will take the lead role in developing relationships with all of SRMCs key audiences. Susan lives in Richmond with her husband and two children. A ten year HCA veteran, Bryan Workman has joined the Spotsylvania Regional team as Facilities Management Leader. He most recently served as the facilities director for HCAs flagship hospital in Denver, CO. During his career Bryan has also held leadership roles with HCAs Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, FL, as well as with Putnam General Hospital in Hurricane, WV. He is a board-certified engineer as well as board certified in healthcare safety management at the senior level. Bryan and wife, who is also an HCA veteran of twelve years, have two children and plan to reside in Spotsylvania County. SRMCs recruiting continues at a steady pace. The next significant hiring wave is expected to occur in October, when 20 more positions will be filled.
